So, Sheraton Raleigh says on their website that they have broadband in the rooms. There's a connection on the desk. But it doesn't work. The "high-speed" wifi works, for the price quoted for broadband. I knew it was a bad sign when the broadband wasn't listed in the Guest Services folder on the desk ( Read more... )

While I was away, I got an email informing me that the NASFiC art show registration has begun. I haven't sent mine in yet, though. Two reasons: First, I was pretty fried last night when I saw that and couldn't think straight to fill it out. I am getting increasingly worried about the NASFiC art show. I know they're planning on having one: their staff directory includes a person in charge of it (who isn't answering emails), and the preliminary program list includes art show tours. I just got back from Lunacon. It was fun. My panels all went well, although the two Friday night and the one late-ish this afternoon were fairly sparsely attended. As expected, I didn't have a lot to add to the Business of Art panel, but my tax information (hobbyist vs. small business) went over well. A couple of people asked me for the URL ( Read more... )

Home from Lunacon. Went to a couple of good panels today, then picked up my unsold art and came home. The flying pig* got a second bid, so it went for above minimum. The Navy Seal also sold, with at least two bids. The two of them more than paid for my table. Yay ( Read more... )

Both panels went pretty well, especially Middle Grade Fantasy. Ghosts of Lunacon was more of a conversation, with several audience members contributing way more than I did.

The flying pig got a bid early this morning; none of the others have sold yet. But there's still tomorrow morning.

Masquerade soon, then to bed.
